What to bring on your charter.

What to Bring for Your Charter Fishing Trip in South Florida

Heading out for a full day on the water? Whether it’s your first time offshore or you’re a seasoned angler, a little preparation goes a long way to make your charter fishing experience smooth, safe, and fun.

South Florida’s tropical climate means we’re blessed with warm weather nearly year-round, but it also means you’ll want to be smart about what you bring aboard. Here’s a quick checklist to help you get ready for a great day offshore.

1. Hydration is Key

Our sunny climate can be intense, especially on the open water where there’s little shade. It’s essential to stay hydrated throughout the day.
Bring:

  • Plenty of water – more than you think you’ll need

  • Gatorade or other sports drinks – great for replacing electrolytes

  • Beer (optional) – if you’re planning to enjoy a cold one, you’re welcome to bring a few, just drink responsibly

Pro Tip: Both of our boats are stocked with large coolers filled with ice to keep your drinks cold all day long. No need to lug your own cooler – in fact, extra coolers often just take up deck space and can become trip hazards.

2. Easy-to-Eat Food

You won’t want to mess with anything complicated while reeling in fish or riding the waves.
Bring:

  • Snacks like chips, granola bars, nuts, and fruit

  • Sandwiches or wraps – simple, handheld, and filling

Keep it light, portable, and clean. A little preparation beforehand means more time for fishing and fun.

3. Sunscreen – Don’t Skip It

Even on cloudy days, the Florida sun reflects off the water and can quickly burn unprotected skin.
Bring:

  • High SPF, waterproof sunscreen

  • Lip balm with SPF

  • Sunglasses and a hat for added protection

Reapply often – your skin will thank you later!

4. Leave These at Home

To make your trip as smooth as possible, there are a couple of things you don’t need to bring:

  • Fishing rods and tackle – both of our boats are fully equipped with top-quality gear and tackle, ready to go

  • Your own cooler – as mentioned, we’ve got you covered with iced-down coolers for all your food and drinks

Final Thoughts

We’re here to make your charter fishing experience easy, enjoyable, and unforgettable. With just a bit of planning and by packing the right essentials, you’ll be set for a successful day on the water.

If you’ve got any questions before your trip, feel free to reach out. Otherwise, we’ll see you dockside and ready to chase some fish!
